Memanfaatkan Webtool ArcGIS Story Maps untuk Pembelajaran Recount Text

Satu lagi webtool menarik yang bisa kita terapkan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dalam mengembangkan dan memadukan kemampuan siswa dalam bercerita disertai dengan penggunaan teknologi multimedia. Melalui webtool ini, kita bisa memanfaatkan kekuatan peta seperti google maps disertai dengan tambahan elemen lain seperti video, gambar, maupun teks untuk disematkan di dalamnya. Kita bisa memanfaatkan webtool ARCGIS Story Maps. Sejatinya, ARCGIS bukanlah aplikasi baru, kita mengenal software tersebut memang dimanfaatkan untuk kepentingan pemetaan. Tidak hanya sebatas itu saja, kita juga bisa memanfaatkan aplikasi webtool ini untuk kepentingan pendidikan khususnya diterapkan dalam pembelajaran. 

ARCGIS Story Maps menyediakan beberapa desain peta cerita untuk digunakan untuk bercerita tergantung pada jenis cerita anda. Pada intinya anda bisa memilih desain yang sesuai dengan tujuan komunikatif misalnya saja, topik yang bisa kita terapkan, materi recount text atau teks recount  dalam pelajaran bahasa Inggris untuk siswa menceritakan tentang pengalaman liburan yang sudah mereka alami.

Ada dua jenis fitur yang bisa kita manfaatkan yaitu, 

Story Map Tour,

Kita bisa menginstruksikan siswa untuk menyajikan satu set foto atau video beserta keterangan, yang ditautkan ke dalam peta interaktif. Hal ini sangat ideal untuk menceritakan pengalaman berdasarkan urutan tempat secara berurutan.

Story Map Journal,

Fitur ini lebih menarik bila diaplikasikan secara mendalam karena berbagai fitur bisa disematkan melalui panel di dalamnya seperti foto, video atau teks. Ketika pengguna menelusuri bagian-bagian dalam story map journal, mereka melihat konten yang terkait dengan setiap bagian, seperti peta, adegan 3D, gambar, video, dll.

Untuk memulainya, caranya sangat mudah,

Masuk ke website ArcGIS Story Maps

Register terlebih dahulu, bisa melalui akun Google maupun Facebook, gunakan email aktif ya..

Mulailah untuk membuat cerita baru misalnya tentang pengalaman selama liburan yang sudah dilalui. Pada dashboard, anda bisa mengisikan tentang judul cerita, lalu sisipkan gambar maupun video.

Pada bagian bawah tambahkan cerita atau story.

Pilih Publish  saat sudah selesai.
